In 2017, Habanos S.A. announced a new collection of five-count tins called the Línea Retro collection that would feature some of the company’s marquee brands in petit corona vitolas in retro-inspired packaging.
The first two releases in the line were the Partagás Capitols and Romeo y Julieta Club Kings and now there is a third offering, the H. Upmann Regalías.
The H. Upmann Regalías is a size that has been available for decades, though had once been a machine-made vitola until becoming handmade in 2002.
When announcing the Linea Retro line, Habanos S.A. said that the petit corona size is “possibly the most popular format in the history of Habanos,” adding that it has long been considered the “standard size” of cigars. It also noted that the Línea Retro concept will be gradually introduced to other brands in the portfolio.
