The Montecristo Supremos Edición Limitada 2019 (5″ x 55), has been released at a special event in Italy. The launch party, hosted by Habanos S.A. as well as Diadema s.p.a., Italy’s distributor of Cuban cigars was attended by 450 cigar lovers.
Introduced earlier this year at the Habanos Festival, the new cigar will ship in special yellow boxes of 25 cigars bearing the Montecristo logo. With its heavy 55 ring gauge, the Supremos is one of the thickest Montecristos ever commercially produced. The size is known in Cuban factories as a Montesco. The Montecristo Supremo features the same dimensions as the Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill.
Although the cigar just made its debut, it will probably be many more months before the cigar is widely available.
Montecristo is the largest-selling Cuban brand, with the No. 4 as Montecristo’s best-selling size. The brand is best known for its iconic No. 2, a torpedo-shaped cigar that is highly sought after by connoisseurs around the world and was named the 2013 Cigar of the Year.
