A new Hoyo de Monterrey La Casa del Habano release will be unveiled Wednesday 26th September at a Habanos distributor event in Warsaw, Poland. The new Hoyo de Monterrey Escogido measures 7 1/8″ by 49 ring gauge (known as a Pacos in Cuban factories), the same size as the San Cristobal de La Habana El Morro, and the newly announced Punch Sir David, a Regional Edition cigar made for the Hong Kong market. The Escogido is half an inch shorter than the Hoyo de Monterrey Double Coronas, a much loved regular production size in the line.
The word escogido translates to “chosen” or “selected” and refers to both the exclusivity of being chosen as a La Casa exclusive, as well as the sorting of tobacco leaves as they journey from the field to and through the factory.
The Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos will be packaged in 10-count boxes, however a formal release date and suggested retail pricing has not yet been released. Stay tuned for news on the availability of the Escogidos on Cigars of Habanos.
